Happiness?

Everyone wants to be happy. There's only one problem, how do you get there? Can you just say "Be Happy" and feel great? Is there some kind of password to get this amazing feeling? And what does it even mean to be happy? I resorted to dictionary.com to look up the meaning of happiness; however, the meaning didn't make particular sense to me. The definition was "delighted, pleased, or glad, as over a particular thing". Does that mean that only a few things are needed to make someone happy? Of course those things are very subjective to individuals. So that brings up a few questions that someone needs to ask themselves like 'what makes you happy?' and 'who makes you happy?'. Personally, I think you need to surround yourself with people who make you feel your best and push you be the best person you can be. Don't hang around with people who only care about themselves and find friends that include you in everything and care about you. Find a sport or hobby that you can do anytime in the year, that way you can always do something that you take pleasure in. When it comes to myself I look to my violin when I am in pain. That piece of wood will never say no to me or hurt my mentally, it will only heal my sadness with beautiful music and melodies. I think one bad thing that girls my age do to themselves is become obsessed with looks and boys so much that when they are let down they have nothing to resort to. There life has become so unbalanced that when something goes wrong they just break down because there is no support system. How does happiness playing into this, you may ask. In my mind you need to have a good support system and something that won't ever leave you so when something does go wrong you have something to bounce back to. One thing that I have learned over the years is that music plays a big role in what you feel. When you listen to depressing songs how do you feel? Depressed. But when you listen to happy uplifting song what is your mood? Happy and uplifted! So when you are feeling sad during these winter months look at what makes you happy, and what helps your mood lift up!
